INTERVIEW: EMMYLOU HARRIS | NOVEMBER 3, 2018
Emmylou Harris ranks as one of the most influential figures in country music history, a fact acknowledged by her 2008 election to the Country Music Hall of Fame. She reimagined classic country music; discovered new songwriting talent and recorded key songs; and created albums that served as guideposts to what is now called Americana music. Harris will discuss her upbringing as the child of a prisoner of war, her discovery of country music’s depth and breadth, her work with Americana forerunner Gram Parsons, and her remarkable catalog of recordings. Presented in support of the exhibit Emmylou Harris: Songbird’s Flight. CMA Theater. Included with museum admission. Free to museum members. Program will be streamed live at countrymusichalloffame.org/streaming.
