John Anderson 2 fois wow !
En tout cas, ça montre une idée des classiques des années 90 qui ont pris le relais des Cash, Nelson, Parton, Harris, Haggard même s'ils étaient encore là. ( et qu'ils sont presque tous encore là dans les années 2010 ! )

#10 Strawberry Wine Deana Carter 1996 | Peak: #1
Written by Matraca Berg & Greg Harrison
He was working through college on my grandpaw's farm. I was thirsting for knowledge and he had a car. I was caught somewhere between a woman and a child. When one restless summer we found love growin' wild. On the banks of the river on a well beaten path. It's funny how those memories they last.
Like strawberry wine and seventeen. The hot July moon saw everything. My first taste of love oh bittersweet. Green on the vine. Like strawberry wine.
I still remember when thirty was old. And my biggest fear was September when he had to go. A few cards and letters and one long distance call. We drifted away like the leaves in the fall. But year after year I come back to this place. Just to remember the taste.
Of strawberry wine and seventeen. The hot July moon saw everything. My first taste of love oh bittersweet. Green on the vine. Like strawberry wine.
The fields have grown over now. Years since they've seen the plow. There's nothing time hasn't touched. Is it really him or the loss of my innocence. I've been missing so much. yeah Like strawberry wine and seventeen. The hot July moon saw everything. My first taste of love oh bittersweet. Green on the vine. Like strawberry wine. ohhh

#9 When I Call Your Name Vince Gill 1990 | Peak: #2
Written by Vince Gill & Tim Dubois
I rushed home from work like I always do I spent my whole day just thinking of you When I walked through the front door my whole like was changed Cause nobody answered when I called your name
A note on the table that told me goodbye It said you'd grown weary of living a lie Your love has ended but mine still remains But nobody answers when I call your name
Oh the lonely sound of my voice calling Is driving me insane And just like rain the tears keep falling Nobody answers when I call your name
Oh the lonely sound of my voice calling Is driving me insane And just like rain the tears keep falling Nobody answers when I call your name Oh nobody answers when I call your name

#8 Shake the Sugar Tree Pam Tillis 1992 | Peak: #3
Written by Chapin Hartord
Love, you're getting lazy You're forgettin' to give me Sweet sugar words that I wanna hear You've been neglectin' me You know jealously, it is a bitter as a green spring berry
And just like fruit from a fickle vine You turn sweet in the nick of time Love you only come alive when you're losin' me And it's a childish game I've got to shake you up just to wake you up To make you love me
I'll shake the sugar tree Til I feel your love fallin' all around me You've got to tend to what you planted And if you take my love for granted baby I'll shake the sugar tree
Another night and you're sleepin' I'm awake and I'm dreamin' Oh honey 'bout the way that it used to be And little time's gone by Do you think that I'm content With the cookin' and the payin' of rent No I wanna know if your love's all spent
I'll shake the sugar tree Til I feel your love fallin' all around me You've got to tend to what you planted And if you take my love for granted baby I'll shake the sugar tree
I've got to raise some commotion Before you show me some real emotion
I'll shake the sugar tree Til I feel your love fallin' all around me You've got to tend to what you planted And if you take my love for granted baby I'll shake the sugar tree You know I'm gonna shake the sugar tree Til I feel your love fallin' all around me You've got to tend to what you planted And if you take my love for granted baby I'll shake the sugar tree

#6 Meet in the Middle Diamond Rio 1991 | Peak: #1
Written by Chapin Hartford, Jim Foster, Don Pfrimmer
It was seven hundred fence posts from your place to ours Neither one of us was old enough to drive a car Sometimes it was raining, sometimes it would shine We wore out that gravel road between your house and mine
I'd start walking your way You'd start walking mine We'd meet in the middle Neath that old Georgia pine We'd gain a lot of ground Cause we'd both give a little Ain't no road to long When we meet in the middle
It's been seven years tomorrow since we said our vows Under that old pine tree, you ought to see it now Standing in the back yard reminding me and you That if we don't see eye to eye there's something we can do
I'd start walking your way You'd start walking mine We'd meet in the middle Neath that old Georgia pine We'd gain a lot of ground Cause we'd both give a little Ain't no road to long When we meet in the middle
Babe, I love the way we work it out That's what love is all about
I'd start walking your way You'd start walking mine We'd meet in the middle Neath that old Georgia pine We'd gain a lot of ground Cause we'd both give a little Ain't no road to long When we meet in the middle
I'd start walking your way You'd start walking mine We'd meet in the middle Neath that old Georgia pine We'd gain a lot of ground Cause we'd both give a little Ain't no road to long When we meet in the middle
I'd start walking your way You'd start walking mine We'd meet in the middle Neath that old Georgia pine We'd gain a lot of ground Cause we'd both give a little Ain't no road to long When we meet in the middle

Blame it all on my roots I showed up in boots And ruined your black tie affair The last one to know The last one to show I was the last one You thought you'd see there And I saw the surprise And the fear in his eyes When I took his glass of champagne And I toasted you Said, honey, we may be through But you'll never hear me complain
'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns And the beer chases my blues away And I'll be okay I'm not big on social graces Think I'll slip on down to the oasis Oh, I've got friends in low places
Well, I guess I was wrong I just don't belong But then, I've been there before Everything's all right I'll just say goodnight And I'll show myself to the door Hey, I didn't mean To cause a big scene Just give me an hour and then Well, I'll be as high As that ivory tower That you're livin' in
'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns And the beer chases my blues away And I'll be okay I'm not big on social graces Think I'll slip on down to the oasis Oh, I've got friends in low places

#4 The Greatest Man I Never Knew Reba McEntire 1992 | Peak: #3
Written by Richard Leigh, Layng Martine Jr
The greatest man I never knew Lived just down the hall And everyday we said hello But never touched at all He was in his paper I was in my room How was I to know he thought I hung the moon
The greatest man I never knew Came home late every night He never had too much to say Too much was on his mind I never really knew him And now it seems so sad Everything he gave to us took all he had
Then the days turned into years And the memories to black and white He grew cold like an old winter wind Blowing across my life
The greatest words I never heard I guess I'll never hear The man I thought would never die S'been dead almost a year He was good at business But there was business left to do He never said he loved me Guess he thought I knew

#3 The Song Remembers When Trisha Yearwood 1993 | Peak: #2
Written by Hugh Prestwood
I was standing at the counter I was waiting for the change When I heard that old familiar music start It was like a lighted match Had been tossed into my soul It was like a dam had broken in my heart
After taking every detour Getting lost and losing track So that even if I wanted I could not find my way back After driving out the memory Of the way things might have been After I'd forgotten all about us The song remembers when
We were rolling through the Rockies We were up above the clouds When a station out of Jackson played that song And it seemed to fit the moment And the moment seemed to freeze When we turned the music up and sang along
And there was a God in Heaven And the world made perfect sense We were young and were in love And we were easy to convince We were headed straight for Eden It was just around the bend And though I have forgotten all about it The song remembers when
I guess something must have happened And we must have said goodbye And my heart must have been broken Though I can't recall just why The song remembers when
Well, for all the miles between us And for all the time that's passed You would think I haven't gotten very far And I hope my hasty heart Will forgive me just this once If I stop to wonder how on Earth you are
But that's just a lot of water Underneath a bridge I burned And there's no use in backtracking Around corners I have turned Still I guess some things we bury Are just bound to rise again For even if the whole world has forgotten
The song remembers when Yeah, and even if the whole world has forgotten The song remembers when
